The sun is shining as I’m sitting here enjoying a cup of coffee before my day jumps into action! Today, I’m trying to keep my focus simple because I know at any minute my son will wake up and all hopes of a quiet time of any shape or fashion will be dashed once again.
Thankfulness is my prayer today. Thankful that I am a SAHM. Thankful that I have a toddler. Thankful that I have a husband who has a job and works hard, allowing me to stay home. I heard it said recently that when you feel frustrated with your same mundane tasks of picking up after everyone, think about how thankful you are that you have a husband to pick up after. Be thankful for the child you have who is loud and makes noise because that means you have a healthy child. Wow! There’s a whole new perspective.
Albeit simple, today I will choose to focus on thankfulness. The Lord is the Giver of every good and perfect gift. And, when I’m struggling with yelling at my toddler for the tenth time, I’m hoping my mind will reflect back upon these words: be thankful. I have to choose it though. We all have a choice everyday. What will it be for you today? Why not choose thankfulness.
Blessings on your day!
James 1:17 “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” (NIV)
